NEWS 2 : SILVER JUBILEE OF ART OF LIVING

The third and the final day for spiritual celebrations of the ''Art of Living'' foundation today concluded with President A P J Abdul Kalam presenting an action-oriented three dimensional solution for transforming the world as an enlightened society.

In his valedictory address to the spiritual leaders at the silver jubilee celebrations of the Art of Living Foundation at the Jakkur Airfield, the President said that it is poossible to transform the world and he believed in it.

''With components of value based education, religion with spiritual force and economic development for the removal of poverty could make the world the enlightened society,'' he said.

Stressing the need for the moral education at the school level he said that it is a tough job to transform religion as a spiritual force from its theological aspect.

The spiritual aspect of religion could be used for the enlightenment of mankind, he said.

Dr Kalam also stressed for the use of music as a force to bind the humanity together, calling for introducttion of fine arts in college education, celebrations of festivals of other religions and giving a boost for the inter-religious movement to establish the universal harmony.

''It is a great mission. It is possible with action-oriented approach and I believe in it and it could be achieved,'' he said.
